Announcement on Terminating TRON Foundation and Justin Sun’s Unlimited 1:1 Withdrawal of TRX on OKEx

Dear TRON community,

TRON Foundation and Justin Sun announced at 23:38 on October 20 (SGT) the “Decision of TRON Foundation and Justin Sun on Unlimited 1:1 Withdrawal of TRX on OKEx” (hereinafter referred to as “the Withdrawal Announcement”), which was widely welcomed and appreciated both among the TRON community and the crypto world. In an effort to fulfill our responsibility and commitment to the industry, we have so far concluded 2 rounds of service and helped 20 users withdraw a total of 11,007,923 TRX.

Unfortunately, 53 minutes after the Withdrawal Announcement was released, OKEx banned TRON’s official withdrawal account. And one minute after we announced the second official account at 18:18 on October 21, OKEx banned the new account again. Thus, no transfer has been successful with the second account.

We would like to take this special occasion to share with everyone our intention of announcing withdrawal service in the first place.

First and foremost, we want to support OKEx and Mr. Xu. As one of the first exchanges to support TRON, OKEx listed four TRON tokens including TRX, BTT, JST and SUN. It is also the first platform to release TRON Futures and the only one among the top 3 exchanges who still supports TRON OTC. As a project team, we appreciate both OKEx and Mr. Xu as an individual, and would like to help them pull through at such a special and even critical moment for the entire industry.

Our second intention is to best protect the interests of all TRX holders, which has been our top priority since day one. To all our TRX holders around the world: in the event of any threat to your holdings, please bear in mind that you are backed by a powerful and responsible team, who will make every endeavor to protect your interests.With the community at its core, it is part of TRON’s corporate culture to uphold its responsibility to holders and safeguard their interests.

The third is our thoughts on the responsibility for the industry.It has been more than eight years since we entered the industry in 2012. We have witnessed the rise and fall of innumerable exchanges and projects. Only those that have been through these years can truly understand those ups and downs.This new and vulnerable industry has confronted misunderstanding and suppression globally and socially. One must unite in order to survive and grow. In an industry with the law of the jungle and lack of rules, where a large number of companies have made off with money, traits like responsibility, self-discipline, unity and mutual understanding are particularly valuable.It makes a huge difference if someone can stand out and shoulder the responsibility when an incident occurs, which may even impact the direction of the industry and influence future generations.We expect to play a reliable and positive role in this direction.

These three points represent our intention of announcing the withdrawal service.While we do not seek assistance from OKEx, we do hope OKEx can be supportive. However, the two swift bans have made OKEx’s attitude clear, and OKEx is determined to impose stricter bans on us. This goes against our original purpose, which is to support OKEx and Mr. Xu.Our announcement has also been rendered invalid.Having negotiated with OKEx, we regret to say that we have to make this tough decision, and we hope OKEx will be able to provide a better solution for users and the industry.

Following the release of this announcement, TRON Foundation and Justin Sun will terminate the 1:1 TRX withdrawal service for OKEx users. The team will follow up on funds that have been transferred but not processed yet.Last but not least, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the team for its hard work in this 48-hour withdrawal campaign.Since the release of the Announcement, the team has been working diligently for 48 hours that demonstrated TRON’s responsibility and efficiency to the entire community. To our twenty TRX holders on OKEx, we appreciate the fact that you have chosen and trusted us. There’s still a long road ahead and we’ll surely meet sometime.
